The State high school rodeo finals started on Thursday at the Wyoming State Fairgrounds in Douglas. In Thursday morning action Big Horn's Casey Collins led the way in Steer Wrestling with a time of 5.88 - a faster time than the 7.29 he had last Saturday at the Sheridan County High School Rodeo where he makes this smooth transition from his horse "Hookem" onto the steer.

Cole Ponce, from Big Horn, wrapped up a great weekend with a first place 70-point ride on Bull "707" Sunday coming on the heels of this 64-point ride for 3rd place on Saturday and a 4th Place finish in Buffalo on Friday.

Local 2011 Wyoming Boys All-Stars put 33 points on the board as the 36th Annual NCAA Wyoming-Montana All-Star Games got underway in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome at Sheridan College on Friday evening.

Sunday afternoon The Class of 2011 Commencement Ceremony was held at the Big Horn High School. Valedictorian, Colby Wollenman and Salutatorian, Nelson Alzheimer addressed the audience and the 29 other Seniors who were about to graduate. Buffalo Bison Senior Kasey Esponda, Wyoming's Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, goes to work on a rainy Thursday afternoon as the 2011 State Soccer Championships got underway by kicking the ball past Powell's Charles Wittick. A few minutes later Kasey would score Buffalo's second score en route to washing out Powell 8 to 0. Buffalo next faces Lander Valley on Field #2 at 4:00 pm Friday.

Eight High School football players from Sheridan County have been selected to the 2011 Shrine Bowl North team rosters. Selected to the North team starting roster are: Michael Klepperich, Wyatt Mirich and Nelson Alzheimer of Big Horn and Kyle Hutchinson, Dawson Osborn and Zach Will from Sheridan.

Local athletes shined at the Jerry Campbell Invitational Track Meet held in Buffalo on Friday.
