The Sheridan Artists' Guild, et al (SAGE) recently moved in the Historic Train Depot at 201 E. Fifth Street where it will be used as a Community Art Center. The Center's planned activities for 2011 include a variety of children and youth programs, gallery shows, classes and workshops.

4H Leader Georgia Boley and her group of "Big Horn Cowboys" were seen holding a meeting in the Big Horn Mercantile after school on Wednesday afternoon. The members to Ms Boley's left around the table are Oliva Boley, Elliot Boley (standing), Madison Booth, Bailey Bard, Clara Bouley, Becca Bouley and Leah Bouley.

In the Tuesday afternoon shadows cast by Big Horn's Elementary School the new school is beginning to take shape as concrete is pumped into the forms of its foundation. Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees voted to approve $8,393,145 for the project during an October 2010 meeting and if all goes well a Christmas 2011 move into the new facility may be possible.

Sheridan High School indoor track athletes traveled to spearfish this past Friday Jan. 14th for there first meet this season. The athletes were eager to get going and it showed. Running in the brand new track at spearfish the team did very well with boys team placing 2nd. Many athletes pre-qualified for the national meet in Idaho later in the season.

Big Horn Senior Katie VanHoosier and Tongue River Freshman Tara Stimpson go up under the Big Horn basket as they battle for the ball Friday afternoon. The struggle continued on the landing with Tara getting help from Taylor LaFrance. The Lady Rams, on their home court with the stands filled to capacity, downed the Lady Eagles 49 to 32 in this cross-district rivalry game.

This water line break under the intersection of Dow and Gould Streets in Sheridan over the week end has resulted in a temporary street closure in the immediate area.
