Three days of wind and rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the 2011 4A Wyoming State Soccer Champions who are seen here with Senior Captain Zack Will pointing to "State Champion" on their well deserved award. It was Sheridan's first ever soccer championship as they defeated the Laramie Plainsmen who denied it from happening a year earlier on the same field. Scroll down for more.

This last weekend was State track for Sheridan High School. Starting Thursday the 19th going through Saturday the 21st the team competed in track and field events. Athletes did there best to get points for the team despite the snowy weather on Thursday then rain and wind on Friday and Saturday. All the athletes went out and competed like the weather wasn't an issue.

Late Saturday Little Goose Creek was flowing out of its banks and crossing Woodland Park Road (CR-66) south of Sheridan. The National Weather Service in Billings has issued a flood warning for northwestern Sheridan County until 9:00 am Monday. For more see: http://www.sheridanmedia.com/upd...

With time running out Buffalo's Mattie Reid makes a header into the goal for her second score of the day off of a bounced ball from the corner kick by teammate Kaitlynn Armstrong. Buffalo's two scores in about 5-minutes after being down 4 to 0 to the Jackson Hole Lady Broncs started too late and when time ran out they were down 4 to 2.

Friday with time running out and rain pouring down in a scoreless game the Broncs send a corner kick high in front of the goal where the ball is deflected away from the goal into the leg of Sheridan's Zack Wiil who drills it back past the Riverton goalie for the only score of the game.

Buffalo Bison Senior Kasey Esponda, Wyoming's Soccer Gatorade Player of the Year, goes to work on a rainy Thursday afternoon as the 2011 State Soccer Championships got underway by kicking the ball past Powell's Charles Wittick. A few minutes later Kasey would score Buffalo's second score en route to washing out Powell 8 to 0. Buffalo next faces Lander Valley on Field #2 at 4:00 pm Friday.

Buffalo Senior Mattie Reid follows the ball right through Powell's goalie on a rain soaked Big Horn Equestrian Center field Thursday afternoon. The Lady Bison poured it on and came away with an 8 to 0 win. Scroll down to see Mattie run through the goalie. Next up for the Lady Bison is a game against Jackson Hole at 2:00 pm Friday on Field #2.
