Saturday morning about 100 hearty souls lent their feet for a good cause. They helped break in the first portion of the soon-to-be opened Soldier Ridge Trail off West Fifth Street. As you can see the youthful and not so youthful and their dogs (and one parrot) were among the first trudgers as they negotiated a switchback early on the trek.

This photo of Rob, from Eatons' Ranch, taken during Eatons' annual horse drive through Sheridan on May 27th serves as a reminder that July 28, 2012 marks the Eighth Annual National Day of the Cowboy (NDOC). The Wyoming Legislature permanently passed the NDOC on March 13, 2012, thanks to the efforts of volunteer Susan Thomas.

At 8:30 Wednesday evening as the sun was setting west of Upper Road (CR-113) the impact sprinklers in the field below appeared to arc their water discharge toward the ring of fire above in this unusual sunset.


Sheridan Babe Ruth 13U team lost their opening game of the Pacific Northwest Regional to the state champion from Lewiston, Idaho.

Sheridan took a 2-0 lead into the 7th inning, but Idaho came back to tie the game. In extra innings Idaho eventually won the game 6-3.

Surrounded by yarrow and junipers, this deer stopped eating foliage long enough to pose under a blue Wyoming Sky on a beautiful Wednesday afternoon.

The Sheridan Babe Ruth 14 year old team traveled to Worland July 18-21 to compete in the Wyoming State Babe Ruth 14 year old tournament. The talented Sheridan team ran through the competition with three wins in three consecutive days over Powell (16-5), Evanston (14-3) and Gillette (13-0).

Mid afternoon Bull Moose Camping with us @ East Fork Campground in the Big Horn National Forest all weekend! Wasn’t worried that anyone was there.
