At 9:34 pm in Sheridan on Saturday the moon will be the closest to the earth making it appear about 14 percent larger than when it is the farthest from us.

After trading goals in the last 11 minutes of play it came down to this last 30-second kick by Sheridan's Senior Hartley Stewart to seal the deal and cap off a 12-1-2 regular season for the Lady Broncs. The Lady Broncs downed the Lady Camels 2 to 1 in a scoreless game until the last 11-minutes that was filled with fireworks.

In the last regular season soccer game the #1 ranked Sheridan Broncs got on the scoreboard first with this kick by Senior Hunter Reece, on his 18th birthday, into the back of the net near the 27:30 mark of the first half on Friday afternoon. In addition to being the last game on Scott Field for the 15 Bronc Seniors it was also Senior night.

The Sheridan Police Department, Rocky Mountain Ambulance, and Sheridan Fire-Rescue responded to an accident located at 1514 E. Fifth St,(The Rock Stop) Thursday afternoon at 17:57hrs. On arrival, there was a passenger van resting perpendicular between the two fuel islands after backing over and shearing off one fuel pump.

Shovels, hoes and rakes await the gardeners of the "Victory Garden" at Fort Mackenzie (VA Hospital). No one was working their plot on Thursday afternoon but Stella Montano reports that she and Clarence have their onion sets and potatoes in the ground in Plot C. There are 18 assigned plots according to the plot plan seen in the lower right corner of the photo.

The Welch Cancer Center Patient Entrance door that has opened to welcome many since 1993 will soon fall prey to the jaws of the John Deere excavator of Sheridan's SSR Construction, Inc. - perhaps before the sun sets on Wednesday. Hospital oncologists have started treating patients in the new facility and it is time to tear down the old digs to make room for Phase 2 construction.

Six Sheridan Bronc Soccer players are soon to be Hardrockers as in South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Hardrockers. Cody Schellinger who graduated from SHS in 2010 will be joined by SHS 2012 graduates-to-be Hunter Reece, Sam LeTempt, Cole Smith, Gabe Dahmke and Braydon Drell in attending school and playing soccer for the School of Mines.
