The days are getting longer with Sunday's sunset seen here, the subject of this photo taken at 4:40 pm. The temperature was a cool 13 degrees as the cattle grazed on a field almost void of snow - snow that several days ago was forecast to be of the 12" kind.
Friday evening in Big Horn the #5 ranked Rams jumped on their cross-district rivals the Tongue River Eagles with 33 points to TR's 17 in the first quarter and never looked back as they cruised to a 82 to 58 win. On the far left Tanner Dockery gets two of his team high 20-points equalling the 20 put up by Big Horn's Colter Carzoli in the next frame to the right.
The No. 1 ranked Tongue River Lady Eagles went to Big Horn on Friday and notched another victory to go 11-0 on the season but the Big Horn Lady Rams made a game of it. Bailey Bard hit a two with 3:30 to go in the game to put Big Horn up 39 - 36 but then Jadyn Mirich and Gracie Goldhammer fouled out. Ranchester capitalized and pulled out a 45 to 41 victory.
From all indications snowman building opportunities are just around the corner. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon at which time the Sheridan area could have 6 to 12 inches of new snow. Perhaps snowman building like the one shown here is on the horizon.
