Cole Ponce, from Big Horn, wrapped up a great weekend with a first place 70-point ride on Bull "707" Sunday coming on the heels of this 64-point ride for 3rd place on Saturday and a 4th Place finish in Buffalo on Friday.

Jarred Lepper from Laramie goes down going around the number three barrel during the Barrel Racing event at Saturday morning's Young Riders Rodeo held at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. Both went down but both walked out of the arena unscathed.

At the Sheridan County High School Rodeo on Saturday Whitney Simmons from Decker scored a fast 3.98 on this run in Breakaway Roping. Whitney currently sits tied for the 21st position in the breakaway roping standings.The rodeo will continue at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds on Sunday at 9:00 am following Cowboy Church that starts at 7:30. Just seconds before the start of the Merrell Bighorn Trail 100 local runners Jeff Foster, Curt Schwamb, Anthony Garber, Darci Arsene, Wendell Robison and Josh Fuller looked ready, willing and able for the grueling journey ahead. About 150 runners left the corner of Dayton's Main Street and 2nd Avenue at 10:00 am Friday and headed into Tongue River Canyon.

It took Savanna Pehringer just 2.78-seconds to win the Adult Breakaway roping event at the Sheridan Cowgirl's Association Rodeo. Savanna beat out 14 other ropers in the event to claim top honors Thursday evening at the rodeo held from 6 - 9 pm most Thursdays - check the community calendar - during the summer at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.

Three local area girls, #24 Dallas Shaw, from Buffalo High School; #20 Kayla Woodward and #12 Brianna Smith (on the right) both from Sheridan High School competed on the 2011 Wyoming Girls All-Star Basketball team against Montana Friday evening. It was a rough night for Wyoming as reflected on the score board in the 3rd period of play in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome at Sheridan College.

Local 2011 Wyoming Boys All-Stars put 33 points on the board as the 36th Annual NCAA Wyoming-Montana All-Star Games got underway in the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome at Sheridan College on Friday evening.
