Under perfect weather conditions the Sheridan High School Boys Varsity Cross Country team of: Michael Rotellini, Kyle Dietsche, Chris Garber, Taylor Bruso, Jordan Ligocki, Paul Stadick and Chris Romanjenko were off and running at the gun in the 2011 Michelle Ludwig Invitational 5000 Meter Run held on the grounds of Fort Mackenzie Friday afternoon.

One bright spot on a dim Friday afternoon was Ram Lucas Wollenman taking the ball away from Greybull's Austin Frazier at the 12 on a Greybull kick early in the first quarter. Big Horn couldn't capitalize on the resultant good field position as Big Horn's offense continued a string of turnovers for Greybull scores. In the end it was Greybull 38 - Big Horn 6.

On the first day of school at Sheridan High School it was also tennis time on the local courts as the SHS Tennis team took on Casper Natrona Tuesday starting at 3 pm. The Lady Broncs took to the courts first with Natrona's Regan Hendricks on the left taking on Sheridan's Noelle Golinvaux on the right in the #1 Singles.

The first contestant in the rodeo program in Senior Barrel Racing, Cashlee Cunningham, comes around barrel two and heads for number three as the 19th Annual Elks Youth Rodeo got underway at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds on Saturday morning at 8:00 am. Cashlee turned in a respectable time of 17.945 to get things started.

Friday evening just moments before game time a rainbow appeared over Sheridan High School as the Sheridan Broncs were about to take to the field for the first game of the season. The Bronc Cheerleaders held the paper Bronc Head for the the players to run through and into an evening of Bronc dominance as they beat the Cheyenne Central Indians 31 to 12. Perhaps cowboy Chris Sorenson is thinking about picking up a 6-pack of Bud before getting into his Hammer Chevrolet Pickup to listen to 93.7 "Coyote Country" on his way home where he will catch up on the news listening to KROE at 930 on the dial before turning on his computer to see his picture on Sheridan Media.

Just a few minutes into the final afternoon of the 2011 Sheridan County Rodeo Sierra Zowada threw a quick loop in Adult Breakaway Roping for a time of 4.51 on her 2nd go - unfortunately she had a "no time" on her first go so it was Ronda Holwell who had the best time on two go's with a 7.20.

Saturday evening the Sheridan County Rodeo started with the Junior Calf Riding and all eyes were on Anthony Graves as he came out of the chute. Anthony looked good coming out but he couldn't hold on for the full time. Scroll down for more of Anthony's ride. The 4th and final performance of the 2011 Sheridan County Rodeo starts at 1:00 pm Sunday.
