The Sheridan Angels have completed the backpack project by delivering over 400 backpacks to 10 schools on Wednesday. Less than 24-hours after their coronation the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Royalty for 2014, Jr. Princess Jenna Frederickson, Princess Emma Jost and Sr. Princess Jackie Lewis, were busy at the Big Horn Equestrian Center where their first duties involved handing out awards following the WYO Rodeo Cup that pitted the Hammer Chevrolet Team against the Century 21 team.
If you missed the awesome Clydesdale Hitch show at the recently concluded Sheridan WYO Rodeo you have one last chance to see them before they leave the Sheridan area and head to Red Lodge Montana. They will be making a daylight appearance in conjunction with the Big Horn Polo Club Games at the Big Horn Equestrian Center where the action starts at 1:00 pm Sunday.
During the First People's Pow Wow, sixteen Miss Indian America princesses from the Sheridan All American Indian Days celebrations from 1953 through 1984 were honored. As Judy Slack, Manager of the Wyoming Room of the Sheridan Public Library, called out each name the honoree came forward during ceremonies on Grinnell Plaza.
On the grassy knoll, beneath the POW Flag, Navy Veteran Melvin M. Heckman, the Wyoming State Chairman of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, places a wreath and then renders a salute in "Honors to the Fallen" during the 2013 Memorial Day Ceremony on Veterans Plaza at Sheridan College.
