This last Friday May 6th, the Sheridan High School track team traveled to Gillette to compete. This was the last regular season track meet and the last chance athletes had to pre-qualify for state or make the cut to go to regionals the next week. The weather was great with it being warm and not very windy. Many athletes got personal bests at the meet and some did pre-qualify for the state meet.

The Sheridan County Fairgrounds was the place to be Monday afternoon as the circus came to town - the Shrine Circus to be exact. For two hours is was one act after another that thrilled the crowd. The elephants are always a hit and during the intermission many youngster went for an elephant ride, had their faces painted or just ate cotton candy.

After 114 teams played 200 plus games on 22 fields over the course of two days - three Sheridan teams garnered Championship status. Shown here is the U14 Sheridan girls team that beat the Rushmore girls team 4 - 1.

On a beautiful Monday afternoon NSI was the place to be for the 2011 NSI Academy Invitational Track Meet.

Friday evening on the SHS stage Aaron Odom, the Sheridan High School Drama Club sponsor, introduced the comedic duet play by Tom Dudzick titled "Greetings!" in which Randy, played by Sophomore Abby Bacon and Andy, played by Senior Rusty Burr are flying to Andy's home for Christmas to meet his parents and tell them of his engagement to Rusty. Mid-way en route is this inflight kiss.

Thursday evening the Sheridan High School auditorium was filled with the sound of music as the Band Department presented "A Festival Concert." In addition to the Wind Ensemble shown here the Symphonic Band performed where such numbers as Blaze of Glory and Sedona could be heard.

With his fingers crossed on both hands Cub Scout Gaige Bielhauer, in his yellow hat, kneels along with his three competitors as he watches his hunting truck in lane #2 come down the Pinewood Derby course on Saturday morning at Hammer Chevrolet in Sheridan.
