It was Homecoming in the gym at Sheridan High School on Saturday afternoon and seniors Kira Kirkham and Stephany Sessions rose to the occasion as they blocked the hit by Cheyenne Central's Paige Jernigan to start the second match. It was a great day for the Lady Broncs and especially the nine seniors who played volleyball on their home court for the final time.

The 4A WY North Conference Ladies Swimming & Diving 2011 Championships wrapped up on Saturday in Sheridan where the Lady Broncs started the day taking second place in the first event, the 200 meter medley relay. Emily Spiegelberg led off the first leg followed by Gretchen Dougherty, then Peyton Brilz while Rainy Schoonmaker anchored the relay finishing with a time of 2:18.72.

The First Interstate Broncos were crowned the Little Guy Tackle Football Champs Tuesday evening on the Dan Madia Field after defeating the Kilpatrick Creations Dolphins 20 to 6.

Tuesday marks the end of the Little Guy Football season with the championship and consolation 5th & 6th grade tackle games taking place on the Dan Madia Field @ 6:45 and 5:30 pm respectively. The 'Gold Squad,' 5th & 6th grade Cheerleaders, seen here in the back row will be cheering during the Championship game.

On Friday in game three against the Moorcroft Lady Wolves, Lady Ram Mali Wright between teammates #12 Brittany Popp, #13 Kori Puckett, #2 Alex Blare, #14 Jaydn Mirich and #22 Gracie Goldhammer (out of view), hammers the ball past would be block defenders Catherine Clonch and #12 Morghan West to win the game.

Weather information indicates that Sheridan set a record for the maximum rainfall yesterday, October 7th, when 1.79 inches fell breaking the old record of 0.59 inches set in 1993. The 1.79 inch rainfall also breaks the all time daily precipitation record for October at Sheridan. The previous record of 1.60 inches was established on October 30, 1974.

"Fiber Arts 14" has taken over the entire mezzanine for the 14th Annual October show being held at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library. Over 75 entries from mostly local artists are on display until the end of October.

Friday, the 5th ranked Meeteetse Lady Long Horns ventured into a Panther's den at Arvada-Clearmont and dropped 3 of 4 games to give the Lady Panthers a big win at home to start the 2nd half of the Volleyball Season.
