Gene was born to Beula (Fugate) Moreland and Lowell G. Hoiten on August 22, 1926, in Correctionville, Iowa.

William "Bud" Rohla, Jr., 82, of Sheridan passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Westview Health Care Center.

A Rosary for Bud will be held on Friday, November 11, 2011 at 7:00 pm at Kane Funeral Home with Deacon Joe Kristufek officiating.

A private family Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on a later date.

Frank Shurter, Sr., 88, of Hanna, Wyoming, and formerly of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Monday, October 10, 2011 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Shurter was born July 25, 1923 in Frankfort, Michigan to Heman and Stella (Hiney) Shurter. He grew up in Thomaston, Tulla, and Wakefield. He attended school in Wakefield until he went to work at age 16 to support his mother who had breast cancer.

Elaine Avery, 87, of Sheridan, WY passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Elaine was born in Belden, ND on August 10, 1924 to Ina and Oscar Lofgren. She graduated from Cook (MN) High School in 1942, the University of Minnesota in 1946 and earned a Master’s Degree from the University of Wyoming in 1962. She was married to William Avery in 1950.

Betty J. (Elkins) Horsley passed away October 8, 2011, at the Billings Clinic Hospital in Billings, Montana after complications of open heart surgery.

She was born February 7, 1934, to parents Benjamin and Amy Sophia in Terre Haute, Indiana. Betty married Virgil P. Horsley June 30, 1951. They had one daughter, Brenda. They moved west to Montana in 1955 and then to Sheridan, Wyoming.

June F. Voegele, 86, of Sheridan, WY died Friday, October 07, 2011, in Sheridan Manor

June was born June 28, 1925, in Sanger, ND to J. Herbert & Sena (Auen) Flowers.

June grew up and attended school through the 3rd grade when they moved to Dodge, ND. She graduated from Dodge High School in 1942 and then taught rural school north of Zap, ND for one year.
