The second annual Summer Institute, put on by Sheridan County School District 2, starts at 10 a.m. today at Sheridan College.

Sheridan County School District 2 trustees adopted a budget Tuesday night that projects spending more than $66.6 million this year, including more than $49.4 million from the district's general fund.

The lightning caused Buck Mountain fire has been contained holding it just under an acre in size. Air resources continue working on the Arden Fire near Shell Reservoir. The cause of this fire is still unknown. The fire has burned about 120 acres in timber. Additional firefighting resources, including six hand crews and engines, have been ordered to help with the fire. There are now closures in the areas. A discussion of Superior Livestock Sales, a report on dispersed camping in the Bighorn National Forest and updates on the 4-H Buyers' reception and Beer Garden at the Sheridan County Fair were on the agenda of the Ag & Natural Resources Committee Tuesday.

Johnson County commissioners expect to spend $14.9 million this year to operate the county.

A juvenile was taken to Sheridan Memorial Hospital by a family member after his bicycle collided with a vehicle Monday night on Highway 335 in Big Horn.
