Sheridan's city council gave second-reading approval Monday night to an ordinance adopting the 2015 Building Code as written in spite of a plea by a Sheridan resident to mandate that sprinkler systems be installed in residences.

Michael Johnson, a former employee at a Buffalo newspaper, was scheduled to make his initial appearance in Johnson County Circuit Court Monday on multiple counts of sexual abuse, drug and child pornography charges, but waived his initial appearance and will now wait for scheduling for his arraignment in District Court.

Buffalo will host the 2016 season-opening event for the Professional Indian Horse Racing Association (PIHRA) this weekend, June 11th and 12th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

Randy Dyess, Vice-Chairmen of the Johnson County Airport Board, came before the county commissioners at their last meeting to answer questions from them and to update them on the latest happenings and issues at the airport and the latest on the Airport Master Plan.

According to their Facebook page, Sheridan’s Cloud Peak Raceway has closed for the rest of this season.
