Sheridan's City Council tabled a request Monday night for $5,000 for a statue honoring women veterans in the Vietnam War.

Sheriff Dave Hofmeier presented Sheridan County commissioners with a request for a little over $2.6 million for the county detention center during a county budget meeting Monday.

The Craig and Susan Thomas Foundation offers mentoring scholarships to at-risk students in Wyoming. The Foundation offers up to $1,300 a semester to help students attend community colleges, the University of Wyoming or vocational education programs.

A proposal that would possibly end with development at the old Bison Meadows Subdivision was brought before the Buffalo Planning and Zoning Commission at their recent meeting for their review.

Johnson County Healthcare Center's Board of Trustees, during their recent monthly meeting, were updated on happenings and issues at the hospital, nursing home and clinic and their various departments.

The City of Buffalo sent out a news release Friday afternoon informing the public that testing performed over the summer of 2015 had found elevated levels of lead in the drinking water in some homes and businesses that were tested during that time.
