Buffalo's City Council will revisit filling the open seat on the council at tonight's regular meeting.

Seven individuals have submitted Letters of Interest to serve the remaining two years on the council in the seat vacated when former councilman Russ Humphrey passed away in December.

Now here's Sheridan Media's look back in time, to 100 years ago, by reporter Pat Blair as published in the Sheridan Enterprise newspaper on Jan. 17, 1917.

At Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting, several members of the council, including Mayor Miller, had just returned from the Wyoming Association of Municipalities Winter Conference.

With the new year, comes new leadership for the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Board. Adam Bunker has taken on the role of Board President from Richard Garber who held the title in 2016. Garber reflects on his time as President.

Johnson County Road & Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer has reported that numbers of users and the amount of revenue generated at the county-owned Mikesell-Potts Recreation area at Lake DeSmet were up significantly in 2016, and he expects those numbers to continue to increase as improvements are made by the county.

State Representative Mike Madden of Buffalo will be updating Sheridan Media throughout this year's Legislative session, and gave his first round of reports last week.

Late last week the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and author Craig Johnson announced the dates for the annual Longmire Days celebration to be held once again this summer in Buffalo.

The sixth annual event is scheduled for Friday July 7th, Saturday July 8th, and Sunday July 9th.
