Sheridan and Johnson county commissioners will meet jointly within the next few days to appoint a new state senator to fill the District 22 vacancy.

No charges are expected to be filed in the shooting incident that occurred on a ranch in northern Sheridan County last Thursday, where an 11-year-old boy was life flighted to a Billings hospital after he was shot in the head.

The eight candidates from Johnson County are Delbert Eitel, Jim Gampetro, Angela Jarvis, Lisa Keeler, Erin Mercer, Rick Pallister, Jack Tarter and Ryan Wright.
