Susan Holmes won the only contested race for a seat on the Sheridan County Conservation District on Tuesday.

In news coming in from Washington about Tuesday's election, U.S. Senator John Barrasso, a Republican from Wyoming who was not up for re-election, said the vote shows that Americans want Republicans sent to Washington to end the gridlock and start solving problems.

As Election Day coverage wrapped Tuesday night, Wyoming's U.S. senior Senator Mike Enzi who was voted in for a fourth term was thanking is fellow candidates.

“I know firsthand,” he said, “how difficult putting your name on a ballot can be and the toll it can take on your families and careers.”

Buffalo Creek, the last Sheridan County precinct to report election results, went strongly Democratic except for three instances.

The renewal of the optional one-cent sales tax in Sheridan County passed easily during Tuesday's General Election as 68 percent of voters were in favor of continuing the tax. Sheridan County Commissioner Terry Cram weighs in on the outcome.
