The dilemma of what to do with the Kendrick Park Pool is one that officials with the City of Sheridan and Sheridan Recreation District have been dealing with for a number of years now. The pool is over seventy-five years old and has become a financial strain to operate and maintain annually.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department's Tensleep Fish Hatchery stocked 1,000 catchable size rainbow trout in Kleenburn Pond Monday. Sheridan County owns and operates the Kleenburn Recreation Area that is located just east of the Acme exit of Interstate 90 north of Sheridan.

Sheridan County School District 2 is asking for money from the state to help plan the future of Sagebrush Elementary School, two alternative schools and the district's bus barn.

Students in Sheridan County School District 1 overall did well in state assessment tests, outperforming state averages.

Another poaching of wild game was reported over the weekend, west of Buffalo.

Two forums have been set this week to feature the candidates for city, county, school, state and federal positions. They will be held Tuesday and Wednesday nights, starting at 7, at the Whitney Presentation Hall at Sheridan College in Sheridan.

Next Monday will be the last day to register to vote ahead of Election Day. The news comes from the office of Secretary of State Max Maxfield.

Concerns about first amendment violations have arisen, since the United States Forest Service has opened public comment on a proposed directive on commercial filming in protected wilderness areas like the Cloud Peak Wilderness, located in the Powder River District of the Bighorn National Forest, located near Buffalo.
