A recent poll conducted by the University of Wyoming, and reported by the Billings Gazette, shows Wyomingites in the northeastern corner of the state are the most dissatisfied with the reintroduction of wolves into the state.

Earlier this week, Sheridan Media News reported the Sheridan County Commissioners approved two grants for reclamation of areas affected by wildfires earlier this year.

Today marks “Black Friday,” and for Sheridan, that means the 17th annual Christmas Stroll downtown. Judy Taylor is serving on the committee again this year, as she has since the local tradition began.

Over the last few days we have looked at the Gilead Fire and some of the contributing factors that made suppression of the fire difficult. Suppression was the top priority from the beginning, but conditions and and human safety were major factors in all decisions relating to the fire.

The Jackson Town Council wants the Jackson Hole Rodeo to start with a non-sectarian prayer addressed to "Father" instead of Jesus.

The Jackson Hole News and Guide reported Wednesday the council plans to add a provision to the rodeo operator's town contract spelling out the words of the prayer.

Despite one of the warmest Novembers on record, two Jackson Hole ski areas will open their new season as planned this weekend.

Grand Targhee Resort will have three of its five lifts open on Friday. The Alta ski area says it has received 73 inches of snow since the middle of October.

There's still time this morning to get down to the Kendrick Park Bandshell and participate in the annual Volunteers of America Turkey Trot. Aside from doing preemptive damage control for the inevitable Thanksgiving binge, the event benefits the community's homeless shelter.

The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce Luncheon this month gave employees Audrey Semm and New Team Leader Trudy Lingle an opportunity to update those attending on the new store and its time line leading up to the Grand Opening next week.
