This past weekend was the Elks Youth Rodeo out at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds. Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott was there and brings us this story.

Tuesday's primary elections didn't generate a lot of voter turnout. State Elections Director Peggy Nighswonger says that the numbers should pick up in the fall.

Fremont County will hold a special mail election to pick one of its county commissioners because of a mistake made in Tuesday's election.

The University of Wyoming is getting ready for the start of classes on Monday, August 27th. Over the past several days, the University has offered the Summit Transitions Program designed especially for incoming students.

At approximately 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rocky Mountain Ambulance along with the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Sheridan County Sheriff's Office, Goose Valley Fire Department and Sheridan Fire-Rescue responded to an accident on Interstate 90 just behind the Kmart in Sheridan.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is looking to encourage community development in the areas surrounding Sheridan.

According to a media release from the Bighorn National Forest, the Gilead Fire on the National Forest has grown to about five acres since Monday. The fire is located about two miles west of Stone Mountain, or about 10 miles northwest of the city of Buffalo.
