U.S. Senator John Barrasso, a Wyoming Republican, spoke on the Senate floor Thursday to concerns he's heard from veterans about President Obama's Affordable Care Act. Senator Barrasso says it hurts small businesses and average citizens.

For most of the day Thursday, the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near the Rock Creek exit were closed due to an accident involving two semi-trucks and multiple passenger vehicles.

The Sheridan County Road and Bridge Crew has been able to get through on all the County Roads at this point and all County Roads are passable.  Therefore the No Travel Advisory has been lifted. Please continue to use caution when traveling the County Roads as visibility in some areas remains limited due to blowing snow.

The Sheridan College Workforce Center for Workforce and Community Education is offering a five-week workshop entitled Improv for Business Success. Center for Workforce and Community Education Director Karen St. Clair explains who the workshop is for.

Twenty local students earned a spot on the President's Honor Roll at Sheridan College. For this achievement, these students must have maintained full-time enrollment by completing 12 or more college-level credit hours with letter grades of A or S and a semester GPA of 4.0 for every single class.

The Wyoming Department of Health is holding a medication take back program. Here in town, Sheridan Memorial Hospital and Sheridan County Public Health are two of the drop-off sites, but there are some important things to keep in mind before depositing your pills.

Winter weather has arrived in Northeast Wyoming, as evidenced by the handful of semi-truck accidents just on Interstate 90 between Sheridan and Buffalo Tuesday night. This weather can cause highway surfaces to be slick and unpredictable, and when you factor in poor visibility and blowing snow, driving can be dangerous. Sheridan Media's Chris Foy has more.

A representative with Montana Dakota Utilities says at approximately 3:20 p.m. Wednesday, the power went out on the 1900 block of Big Horn Avenue and in some other areas in Sheridan. Technicians with MDU were dispatched and eventually restored power a few hours later.
