Sheridan residents had a chance to meet and talk with the two finalists for the Sheridan city administrator's position in a reception Tuesday night at Sheridan College.

The Sheridan County Commissioners approved two contracts with state agencies at their meeting Tuesday that will allow for the disbursement of grants to local entities. The first contract was with the Wyoming Department of Family Services for a TANF grant.

The Wyoming Wilderness Association and the U.S. Forest Service are inviting the public to a stewardship outing at Sibley Lake Saturday. Heidi Davidson with the WWA said the outing will take place from 9 am to 2 pm.

There are two seats available for the Sheridan County Commission and three candidates who are vying for those two seats. Incumbents Mike Nickel and Tom Ringley, who are both Republican, and Democratic Candidate Vicki Taylor recently appeared as guests on our news talk show Public Pulse.

Brucellosis sampling is underway in the Bighorn Mountains as some archery elk hunters have already collected and submitted blood samples.

Absentee voting starts Friday for this year's general election.
