Johnson County Republicans held their convention on Saturday, voting on delegates for both the state and national conventions.

State Representative Mike Madden, speaking at the Johnson County Republican Convention Saturday, said the state's reserve accounts are in good shape so far, but low oil, gas and mineral prices are going to make future budgets a challenge if they stay at current low levels.

Saturday, the Sheridan County Republican Party Convention was held at the Sheridan Center Best Western. It was all about bylaws, platforms, and resolutions according to Kathy Coleman.

The Sheridan City Council recently passed in increase in the Mayor's salary from $24,000 a year to $48,000. That raise in salary will not go into effect until January 1st, 2013. The salary was lowered several years ago in anticipation of the City hiring an administrator.
