Sheridan Memorial Hospital's new urgent care facility is nearly complete and could be open by the end of the month.

The Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming will be offering a Substance Abuse Prevention Meeting this Wednesday to gather input from those in the community with ideas on how to make positive changes in the prevention of abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in Johnson County.

Those who've already registered for this year's The Link – Partners in Pink run/walk to benefit breast health in Sheridan, can pick up their bag this Friday afternoon, (Oct. 18) between 3 and 6 in the cafeteria of Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Wyoming's nationally-known author Craig Johnson who's become famous for his “Longmire” book series, and A&E television show of the same name, is showcasing his newest book tonight at Sheridan Stationery on Main Street.

The Northeast Wyoming Sage-Grouse Working Group will hold an open house to gather public comment for their Sage-Grouse Conservation Plan Addendum.

The meeting will be from 11am to 1pm Tuesday, November 5 at the Campbell County Library, located at 2101 4-J Rd in Gillette.

Friday, Sheridan College held an open house to introduce the community to the Edward A. Whitney Academic Center. Bright, shiny and brand spanking new, the facility boasts more space and houses a new book store, all student services, and many new classrooms.

Saturday, hundreds of kids with their families showed up at the Sheridan Fire and Rescue Station for its annual Fire Prevention Week Open House.

Saturday, close to 30 people gathered at the courthouse corner of Main and Burkitt to pray for our country. The event is called the “Public Square Rosary” which has been held across the country since World War II.
