The Wyoming Game and Fish Department announced Tuesday they are planning a series of prescribed burns at the Bud Love Wildlife Management Area in late April or early May - if the weather permits. The department has contracted Fire Trax, LLC to conduct the burns.

The preliminary phase report of the Career and Technical Education Study was discussed by the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority Tuesday at their monthly meeting.

Phase Two of the Wyoming Avenue/Park area reconstruction project will get underway Monday, May 6th. Crews finished up phase one of the project last spring and the City of Sheridan recently awarded the bid for phase two of the project to Intermountain Construction and Materials of Sheridan.

Sheridan's County Commissioners held a special meeting this morning to commemorate 125 years of county government.

The Sheridan community is getting a little bit closer, thanks to online social media. The Facebook page, Sheridan Angels, was started by Kelley Mason, a single mom of five and full-time college student.

Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Big Horns is working to put together a massive garage sale to raise funds to build homes for families in the community. Director, Matt Davis, says this project focuses on items other than construction materials.

The Buffalo Swim Club held their annual Duck Race fundraiser this past weekend, and it was again a big success according to Marjorie Riddle, with the Buffalo Swim Club.

The Jordan Wirth Faculty Percussion Recital will take place Tuesday at 7:30 pm in Sheridan College's C-TEL Auditorium. Wirth will be performing on marimba, vibraphone, a drum set and will be accompanied by faculty members and students.
