Last night’s “Dining for a Cause” event held at Frackelton’s restaurant in Sheridan raised $8,529 for the Big Horn Mountain Festival in Buffalo.

Though the Sheridan County commissioners are currently working on the budget, and have asked supervisors to help identify possible staff reductions to make up a projected $800,000 shortfall for next year, they did not discuss the budget during today's regular meeting.

A 41-year-old Sheridan man was sentenced to up to five years in prison, suspended in lieu of five years of supervised probation, in district court in Sheridan Tuesday on a charge of of felony possession of a deadly weapon with unlawful intent.
