Steve Maier, who's chairman of the Sheridan County commissioners, foresees a challenge next week as commissioners interview the three candidates for Sheridan County sheriff.

Sheridan County commissioners at their meeting Monday approved hiring a new full-time employee in the road and bridge department and a new part-time employee in the University of Wyoming extension office if funds are available in the county budget.

Sheridan County commissioners have scheduled a special meeting at 1 p.m. next Monday, May 15, to interview candidates and select a successor to retiring Sheriff Dave Hofmeier.

The May edition of the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly luncheons will have a focus on the upcoming tourist season. Ryan Koltiska, Director of Marketing and Communications for the Chamber explains.

The 22nd Annual Project Graduation will take place on graduation night. According to Marcia(Marsha) Harper, the event is intended to keep the newly graduated Sheridan High Schoolers safe on a high risk night.

The Sheridan County Museum will host their Casual Conversations in History program on Wednesday. The program is usually held at the Sheridan Senior Center but according to Museum Director John Woodward, this month’s program will be different.
