The 7th Annual Buffalo Oktoberfest, presented by the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and sponsored in part by Sheridan Media, will be happening today in downtown Buffalo.

The Sheridan Food Group was presented with a check from the Black Powder Shootout Committee during their meeting Friday. Missi Hubert, Executive Director of the Food Group, told us more.

Trustees of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, which administers Sheridan and Gillette colleges and the Johnson County campus, were updated on topics from college enrollment to the strategic plan to the district's contribution to economic development Friday morning.

The Miss Wyoming USA Pageant will take place this weekend at the Casper Events Center. 20-year-old Becky Bridger of Sheridan will be competing in the pageant for the right to represent Wyoming in the Miss USA Pageant in the summer of 2017.

For some, snow boots and coats were the attire for the evening, but the cold steady wind didn’t dissuade hundreds of shoppers from turning out for the final 3rd Thursday Street Festival. But it did cause some vendors difficulty in keeping their booths grounded.

Despite the cooler weather, nearly 30 vendors were on hand for this week’s Farmers Market. Committee member Donald Legerski said Sheridan’s Farmers Market unique.

Ptolemy Data Systems COO Jesus Rios spoke at the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Wednesday. He was there, along with his team, to answer some of the most common IT questions they receive. First he tackled why the “cloud” is useful.

Just east of Sheridan, there is a 5 plus acre field full of pumpkins of all size and color. The Koltiska Pumpkin Patch opened its field for the 12th year to the public Wednesday according to owner Vicki Koltiska.
