The Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center had their monthly meeting Wednesday night, where they approved price increases, pay increases, capital budget and the pension contribution within the budget for the upcoming year.
The Lake Stop at Lake DeSmet is having the first of what is hoped to be an annaul event, the “Light Up the Lake Boat Parade” this weekend. The idea is for participants to decorate their boats in lights and have a parade on the water Saturday night.
At their regular meeting Monday night, the Johnson County School District Board of Trustees voted to allow bonds taken out in 2004 and 2005 to be retired. The $8.5 million bonds were for the new Kaycee School and Buffalo High School built within the last six years.
Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar along with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service official Dan Ashe will travel to Wyoming within the next thirty days to meet with Governor Matt Mead about wolf management.
