Johnson County's Commissioners approved Chairman Bill Novotny to sign a letter to lawmakers in Washington, DC asking for continued funding of the Safe Rural Schools (SRS) Program for Fiscal year 2016.

The Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming (PMO), with help from the Buffalo Police Department and Johnson County Sheriff's Office, will be conducting the spring Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Saturday in Buffalo, to coincide with the National event taking place the same day.

Buffalo dentist Dr. Brian Cotant, who sits on the Johnson County Board of Health with Public Health Officer Dr. Brian Schueler, is also a proponent of adding fluoride to the city's drinking water, as he reported the the board during their recent quarterly meeting.

Johnson County's Commissioners and Sheriff Steve Kozisek are waiting on contracts from the State Department of Corrections so they can review them to determine if it would be in the county's best interest to enter into a contract to house state and Federal prisoners at the county detention center.

Registration is currently open for the upcoming 2016 Bluegrass Camps For Kids to be held July 6th through the 8th at the Johnson County Fairgrounds, the week before the 12th Big Horn Mountain Festival.

Representatives of the Johnson County Predator Control Board submitted their proposed budget and asked for funding from the county commissioners during their last regular meeting.

Buffalo's City Council approved the requests from city department heads to apply for grant funding through the Johnson County Recreation District.
