Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks in cooperation with local authorities recently closed Intake Fishing Access Site (FAS) to public use due to high water conditions. The Yellowstone River has flooded some of the access site and potentially put the public at risk.

The Buffalo City Council, at their last meeting, considered a request by a citizen to take over the maintenance of a strip of land on Park Lane from the residents of the street.

The Johnson County Commissioners, at their meeting last week, approved amendments to the existing regulations at the Mikesell-Potts Recreation Area at Lake DeSmet.

As higher fuel prices take more and more money from family budgets and businesses bottom lines, U.S. Senator Mike Enzi continues to back legislation that would decrease the price at the pump.

The Northeast Wyoming Municipal Leaders, or NEWY, will have their monthly meeting in Buffalo Saturday at City Hall beginning at 8:30 am.

The Johnson County Incident Command issued an update Friday on the flooding situation in the county. Additional moderate to heavy rainfall is expected through tonight, which may cause minor rises in creeks and rivers, however most will remain well below flood stage or below bankfull.

The Incident Command is in place in Buffalo, Johnson County and Kaycee in case flooding becomes a major problem locally.

The Johnson County Commission voted to end the contract between the county and Volunteers of America for juvenile probation services.
