At their meeting this week the Johnson County Commissioners approved a request to lift the county-wide fire ban enacted this summer.

Sheridan College in Johnson County will host an Artist Reception for two area photographers tonight at the campus on South Main Street.

The featured artists will be Stacy Ellenwood and Diana Volk, whose work will be on display during the event.

At Tuesday’s Buffalo City Council meeting the council erupted into a verbal melee among themselves and members of the public attending the meeting, over the proposed transfer of ownership of the old Clear Creek School building from the school district to the city.

The Johnson County Commissioners, at their Tuesday meeting, approved the contract extension between themselves and the University of Wyoming for 4H Extension Office Educator Rachel Vardiman.

Wolf hunting seasons have begun in the northwest part of the state.

Hunting seasons in each wolf hunt area began October 1 and will end December 31, except for Hunt Area 12 south of Jackson, which opens October 15 and closes December 31.

The Johnson County Library Board approached the county commissioners at their Tuesday meeting to gain support from them to put the library's expansion project on the ballot as a one-percent special-use tax in November of 2014.

Buffalo's City Council, at their Tuesday meeting, went into executive session and came back into the general session, deciding to enter into a contract with former City Planner Zach Montgomery as a planning consultant.

This Friday the Ranch at Ucross will host the Wyoming Women's Antelope Hunt Dinner and Auction, with proceeds to go to the Wyoming Women's Foundation.
