Over the weekend, several young FFA leaders from Sheridan and Buffalo reached new heights in the Bighorn Mountains. Officers camped out at YMCA of the Bighorns Camp Roberts and spent time around Tie Hack Reservoir for a weekend dedicated to growth, goals, and new ideas.

The Hatchery fire is located about 7 miles east of Tensleep. This has closed the portion of U.S. Highway 16 between Buffalo and Tensleep. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

At Monday night’s Sheridan City Council Meeting, the council passed a Memorandum of Understanding with the North Eastern Wyoming Growth Alliance.

There was a fatal crash north of Kaycee on I-25 Monday morning at 10:23. The crash occurred while 66-year-old Clifford and 65-year-old Brenda VanCampen from Lamar, Colorado were changing a tire on their car dolly.

During a signing ceremony for his Executive Order, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead announced Eugene M. Gagliano as the new Poet Laureate for Wyoming. Gagliano is a retired elementary school teacher from Buffalo and is the eighth Poet Laureate in state history.

Buffalo's fifth annual “Longmire Days” was this past weekend, and drew thousands of people into northeast Wyoming to meet the stars and V.I.P's, participate in the events and celebrate the television series based on the books written by Ucross author Craig Johnson.
