Cub Scouts from Sheridan and Johnson County will pack the showroom of Hammer Chevrolet in Sheridan Saturday for the annual Pinewood Derby.

Mike Markovsky came before the Buffalo City Council at this week's meeting to discuss how the city may gain users on the NW Water Pipeline Project if they were willing to help landowners in the area by reducing some of the costs involved with hooking up to the water line.

Earlier this month members of the Johnson County Library Board gave a report to the county commissioners about cracks in the foundation and walls at the Kaycee Library.

This Saturday the St. Francis Animal Shelter in Buffalo will be having a garage/bake sale fundraiser to benefit the shelter.

The Johnson County Library reported to the county commissioners at their meeting this week that they do not wish to participate in the survey of public opinion that will be conducted by the YMCA.

State Representative Mike Madden, in a news release Tuesday, announced he is seeking another term to serve as Representative of House District 40, which encompasses all of Johnson County and the eastern portion of Sheridan County.

Buffalo's City Council, at their Tuesday meeting, passed Resolution No. 1373, setting the request for municipal funds from property taxes for the city at their allotted 8 mills for Fiscal year 2014-2015.
