LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming is proceeding with more than $255,000 in renovations to a house it rents to former UW President Bob Sternberg. Sternberg had requested roughly $163,000 in renovations to the house.

WASHINGTON (AP) - For the first time, the Obama administration is taking action against wind farms for killing eagles. In a settlement announced Friday, Duke Energy will pay $1 million for killing 14 golden eagles over the past three years at two Wyoming wind farms.

CODY, Wyo. (AP) - A Montana nature photographer has been sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to kidnapping and sexually abusing an 10-year-old girl in Wyoming.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - A Wheatland man faces life in prison when he goes before a judge for sentencing in the 2011 shooting deaths of his three young sons and his brother. Everett Conant III pleaded no-contest in June to the four killings and to a charge of attempted murder against his ex-wife, who also was wounded in the shootings at a Wheatland trailer park.

District Judge John Brooks of Douglas has scheduled a sentencing hearing for Conant for Tuesday afternoon in Wheatland. Prosecutors have agreed not to seek the death penalty against him.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A state judge has ordered Montana authorities to recalculate how much is owed by a Wyoming mining company that challenged its $3.4 million tax bill.
