FLOOD WATCH
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BILLINGS MT
403 PM MDT FRI JUN 3 2011

...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BILLINGS HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WATCH
BEGINNING MONDAY FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS IN SOUTH CENTRAL AND
SOUTHEAST MONTANA AND NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING...

TONGUE RIVER NEAR DAYTON AND BIRNEY

.VERY WARM TEMPERATURES THIS WEEKEND AND MONDAY WILL CAUSE MOUNTAIN
SNOW MELT TO INCREASE DRAMATICALLY. AS A RESULT...THE POTENTIAL
EXISTS FOR SIGNIFICANT RISES AND FLOODING ON AREA RIVERS BEGINNING
MONDAY. THERE IS STILL UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW FAST RIVERS WILL RISE
AND THE EXACT TIME AND EXTENT OF THEIR CRESTS. COOLER WEATHER IS
EXPECTED TO SLOW DOWN THE SNOW MELT BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

RESIDENTS WHO MAY BE IMPACTED BY RISING RIVER LEVELS SHOULD MONITOR
THE LATEST FORECASTS CLOSELY AND TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT THEIR
LIVES AND PROPERTY. THE LATEST STAGES AND FORECASTS FOR RIVERS AND
STREAMS CAN BE FOUND AT OUR WEB PAGE: HTTP://WATER.WEATHER.GOV
