Sheridan College promotes Hammer to head basketball coach

Sheridan College interim men’s basketball coach Matt Hammer has been promoted to full-time head coach, college officials announced Monday.

Hammer, who became the interim coach in August, has the Generals at 16-10 this season.

Broncs / Lady Broncs sweep road games at Gillette / Rams / Eagles split / Bronc Wrestlers 4th at the "Ron Thon" invite / Bronc Swimmers sweep three duals

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams swept games from Gillette Friday night in the Razor City.

The Lady Broncs battled the Camels into overtime and came out on top 64-62, Robbi Ryan led the Lady Broncs with 29 points, Head coach Jessica Pickett.

The Lady Broncs were very tired late in the game as Gillette just kept sending players at them but Pickett says the players dug down deep and got it done.

SC Volleyball signing

Sheridan College volleyball is excited to announce the addition of Callie Gabriel a 5-10 Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist from Sturgis, SD to the 2015 roster.

"Callie has a lot of potential and is going to improve a lot in the college game," said Head Coach Jennifer Stadler. "She has very well rounded technique for a small town player. Aside from her strengths on the court, I really enjoyed Callie’s personality and I feel that she is going to be a great character fit for our program."

Sheridan College volleyball is pleased to announce the addition of Jace Kleffner a 5-11 Outside Hitter from Lakewood, CO to the 2015 roster. Kleffner is the third player to ink an LOI for the 2015 class as she will join the SC program that will look to build off this year’s 20-13 record.

Bronc football player signs with Carroll college / SHS hoops at Gillette / Rams host Eagles / Wyoming vs AFA Saturday

COLLEGE FOOTBALL SIGNING - Two Sheridan high school seniors signed national letters of intent Wednesday to play college sports, another signed on the dotted line yesterday.

Colby Bruney signed to play football at Carroll college in Helena, Montana, Colby says it was a big day for him. Now the work begins to become a college football player.

Bruney played running back and linebacker for the Broncs for the last two years and talks about learning a new position.

February 5th

Wyoming splits with CSU / College Signing day / Broncs / Camels face off Friday night

COLLEGE SIGNINGS - Two Sheridan high school seniors signed national letters of intent Wednesday to play sports in college and another will sign on the dotted line today.

Jess Edens signed to play football and kick and Black Hills state university in Spearfish, South Dakota and Emily Julian signed to play soccer at the University of Mary in Bismark, North Dakota.

Edens says his choice of Black Hills was an easy choice to make. And he says being familiar with the program made the decision that more simple.

February 4th

Cowboys / Cowgirls face CSU tonight / Bronc wrestlers at Riverton invite / Bronc / Lady Bronc hoops in Gillette / Rams v Eagles Friday in Big Horn

BRONC WRESTLING - The Bronc wrestlers will compete at the annual "Ron Thon" invitational in Riverton starting Friday.

They have this tournament and a home dual with Gillette left on the schedule before the regional and state tournaments.

Broncs Head coach Tyson Shatto says the Riverton invite is a tremendous showcase of the best wrestlers in the state in all classes coming together to compete.

And now they start looking forward to peaking for the two big post season tournaments.
