State Soccer and Track open Thursday / Troopers on the road this weekend / Rockies v Giants tonight

SPRING SPORTS CULMINATING EVENTS - The Sheridan Lady Bronc soccer team will be in Rock Springs Thursday to open the state soccer championships. They take on Casper Kelly Walsh in the first round Thursday morning at 9:00.

The all class Wyoming state track and field championships start Thursday at Kelly Walsh high school in Casper.

The school year and spring sports season is coming to a close Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian says they've had a good year and look ahead to even better things in the 2014-15 school year.

REGIONAL SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team will have the #4 seed heading into the state tournament this week after losing two games at their regional tournament over the weekend.

They lost 3-1 against Cheyenne East in the semi finals and lost 2-0 against Laramie in the consolation game Saturday.

They open the state tournament in Rock Springs against number one seed Casper Kelly Walsh Thursday morning at 9:00.

REGIONAL TRACK AND FIELD - High school track and field regional meets finished up Saturday in team results the Lady Broncs were 4th the Broncs were 5th.

*The top 8 athletes in each individual event qualify to the state meet and the top 4 relays plus anyone (or a relay) that reached an automatic qualifying mark.

Bronc soccer eliminated from regional tourney / Lady Broncs in the semi's tonight / Troopers have four on the road this weekend

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc soccer team was eliminated from the 4-A East regional tournament Thursday evening with a 2-1 loss vs Cheyenne East.

The Lady Broncs play in the semi finals this afternoon at 3:30 against Cheyenne East.

The Lady Broncs and T-Birds split their conference games this spring winning on each others home field, East beat the Lady Broncs 2-0 and the Lady Broncs returned the favor winning in Cheyenne 1-0.

Lady Broncs Head coach Mallery Marshall says they must match the T-Birds physical style of play.

Trooper baseball / Regional Soccer and Track / Rockies drop two straight in KC

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 0-2 on the season after dropping two against the Billings Halos.

Last week's games with the Billings Royals were rained out Head coach Ben Phillips says he saw some good things in the two games they did get to play.

And Phillips says since they were rained out last Sunday the players really need to get some live action against another opponent.

Spring Sports begin post season action Thursday and Friday

SHS - The 2014 spring sports season ends with state track and soccer next week, we visit today with Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian.

Sheridan high school competes in Wyoming highest division while being one of the smaller schools in the league and has done so for many years and racking up several state titles.

Jaxon Parker tops the podium

Holy Name took some kids to the Best of the Best track meet in Douglas today and competed against 21 schools from the state.

Jaxon Parker won the 7th grade Shot Put throwing 36-10 1/2 feet.

Alex Garber (who is a 6th grader) won the championship in the 7th grade 2400 Meter Run and the 800 Meter Run.

Sheridan Storm U12 Girls Team won the Silver Division at the Snickers Cup held May 10th and 11th at the Big Horn Equestrian Center.

Soccer and Track post season opens / Ritterbusch signs to play tennis / Troopers on the road this week

Bronc Senior Reed Ritterbusch will play tennis in college

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams head to their regional this week in Gillette. The Broncs open the first round Thursday with Cheyenne East in a loser out match at 5:30.

The Lady Broncs have an automatic bid into the state tournament and a first round bye at the regional they play in the semi finals Friday.

TRACK AND FIELD - High school track and field Regionals begin Friday, the 4-A East will be held at Cheyenne South high school.

Big Horn, Tongue River, Arvada/Clearmont and NSI track athletes have their regional meet in Torrington.

Troopers rained out / Rockies off to a 23-17 start / Spring Sports post season begins this week

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers had their home opener rained out Sunday and now wait six more days until their next games.

The Troops are schedule to play at Rapid City post #320 Saturday and two in Powell Sunday.

Head coach Ben Phillips says they just have to play the waiting game and right now they just need to play to get the bats going and get that pitching staff more live innings.

The next home date for the Troops will be Thursday May 29th in a double header with Douglas.
