BRONC / LADY BRONC TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams opened their season in Jackson Thursday both teams won 3-2.

Today and tomorrow the Lady Broncs will play in a tournament in Rapid City the Broncs will play in Gillette tomorrow and both teams travel for matches Tuesday at Natrona county.

BRONC FOOTBALL - Bronc football opens at Cheyenne Central tonight we will the all the action live for you on 14-10 KWYO and on Sports / Talk 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

Broadcast time will be at 5:30 with the First Federal savings bank pregame show kick off is at 6:00

Jo Co HS Sports Teams Kick Off busy Weekend

The Bison golf team is playing a tournament in Rawlins this weekend. They played yesterday and will wrap up this afternoon.

The Lady Bison swimmers will host their Buffalo Pentathlon at the Johnson County Family YMCA this afternoon at 4pm. Saturday they will be in Lander.

The BHS cross country team will be in Douglas today at the Jackolope Invite.

The Lady Bison varsity and JV volleyball teams will be at the Douglas Invite Saturday while the freshmen travel to the Newcastle Invite on Saturday as well.

LADY BRONC VOLLEYBALL - The Lady Bronc volleyball team will open their season at a tournament in Riverton tomorrow.

The Lady Broncs start the season as the defending 4-A champs and Head coach Wendy Ruby says that positive finish to last season has carried over into practice the last two weeks.

Ruby says with many new faces on the varsity squad this year it may take a few matches to find out this team's identity.

Bison, Buckaroo Weekend Preview For August 24

The Bison golf team was in Gillette Monday and Tuesday and the boys team finished 7th of 10 teams, while the girls finished fifth of nine teams. The top finisher for the boys was Lee Hartley who finished 8th with a 162 for the tournament. The top finisher for the girls was Sydney Gruntmeier, 14th, who shot 210 for the tournament.
Next up is a tournament in Rawlins today and Friday.

Big Horn Polo Club results

There were two tournament finals played on Sunday August 12, at the BHEC - 1:00 The C&K Equipment Cup; and at 3:00 the Montaylor Cup.

In the C&K Equipment Cup, Richard Williams & Associates defeated Hammer Chevrolet, 9-7.

MVP, sponsored as always by Kiwi Katering, was Rob Beckman of Richard
Williams & Associates.
Best Playing Pony was "MGM", owned and played by Carlos Galindo.

SHS Golf coach Larry Martoglio

SHERIDAN BRONC GOLF - The Gillette golf invitational wrapped up Tuesday at Bell Knob golf course.

The Sheridan Broncs finished 6th in the team race and Jack Mavrakis was the lone Bronc player in the top ten he tied for 9th place carding a two day total of 164.

The Sheridan varsity golfers are off until next week when they play at two tournaments in Powell and Cody.

The Tongue River, Big Horn and Sheridan JV's will play in a one day tournament tomorrow at Kendrick golf course.

Buffalo, Kaycee Football Ranked In Wyopreps Preseason Top 5

Both the Buffalo Bison and Kaycee Buckaroos are ranked in the preseason Top 5 that came out last week.

In Class 3A, Buffalo is ranked at the #4 spot, behind top-ranked Powell, second-ranked Douglas and third-ranked Green River. Star Valley rounds out the top five.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team will play Cheyenne Central in the capitol city Friday night to open their season while Big Horn and Tongue River wait another week.

The Rams start their new season with a new coaching staff as Micheal McGuire takes over the Rams program.

McGuire has been pleased with what he's seen from the Rams the last week and says their job is making sure the players stay focused for one more week before they play a real opponent.

The Rams face Greybull on the road a week from Friday.

Johnson County High School Teams In Action This Week

Buffalo and Kaycee High School sports teams will be in action this week and others will begin their seasons next week.

The BHS Golf team played at the Wheatland Invite last week and took both the boys and girls titles. They played at Gillette yesterday and will be there again today and will play at Rawlins Thursday and Friday.

The Lady Bison Swimmers will open competition by hosting their Buffalo Pentathlon this Friday at the Johnson County Family YMCA. They will then travel to Lander on Saturday.
