With the weather looking like its finally willing to cooperate, a busy schedule for Buffalo High School athletes may actually be completed this week.

WYOMING TRACK CLASSIC FRIDAY IN CASPER

TRACK / FIELD - The Sheridan high school track teams are getting ready for competition this week at the Wyoming track classic tomorrow and the Casper invitational Saturday.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs are coming off solid finishes in their own invitational this past week and Head coach Art Bauers says the Dan Hansen meet was the largest ever.

Qualifiers will compete at the Wyoming track classic in Casper tomorrow the meet will be held at Kelly Walsh high school.

LADY GENERALS DAVIS TO THE COWGIRLS / TRACK / GOLF/ SOCCER / BASEBALL

LADY GENERALS BASKETBALL - Sheridan college Lady Generals Sophomore point guard Jasmine Davis will sign today to play basketball for the University of Wyoming Cowgirls it will mark the second straight year a Lady Generals player signed with Wyoming.

Davis follows former Lady General Fallon Lewis on the squad which will have for players from Sheridan county. The Cowgirl roster for the coming season includes former Lady Bronc's Kayla Woodward and incoming freshmen Hailey Ligocki.

Pac 12 TRANSFER JOINS GENERALS

Sheridan College head coach Steve Smiley is pleased to announce the addition of Kaileb Rodriguez to the 2013 men’s basketball recruiting class. Rodriguez, a 6’9 225 pound forward, spent this past season red-shirting at the University of California.

A Denver native, Rodriguez played his high-school career at Thunder Ride High School under Coach Joe Ortiz. In his senior season the Grizzlies post a 20-6 record, finished as the 5th ranked team in the state of Colorado.

SC RODEO RESULTS

The Sheridan College Rodeo Team had a good weekend in Casper. The men's team ended up 5th, with with 220 points and the women's team ended up 4th, with 195 points.

In the bareback riding, Shane Stevens was 60 points on his first horse and 64 points on his short go horse. Tate Schwagler had a great ride in the long-go, earning 78 points and placing 2nd in the long round. He was 61 on his short go horse and ended up 4th in the average.

April 22nd

TROOPERS OPEN 2013 SATURDAY

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are scheduled to open the 2013 season Saturday at Thorne-Rider stadium in a double header with Cody.

Head coach Ben Phillips says the main focus during the early season is making sure his pitching staff is ready to throw a good amount of innings. The plan is to start Drew Adrieans in the opener he is currently a red-shirt pitcher and Montana state-Billings.

WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP UP

TRACK AND FIELD - The Sheridan high school got the annual spring "Dan Hansen" Sheridan invitational in on Saturday. In team scores the Broncs and Lady Broncs were both 6th.

In the girls standings Big Horn was 10th, Tongue River was 13th and Arvada / Clearmont was 18th.

The Boys results had Big Horn 7th and Tongue River 13th full results from the meet are on the sports page at sheridanmedia.com.

This week all state qualifiers are scheduled to compete at the Wyoming track classic Friday at Casper Kelly Walsh high school and Saturday kw will host the Casper Invitational

Weekend High School Sports Wrap For Johnson County

Buffalo High School athletes were back in action this weekend after some time off forced by some inclement weather.
