TROOPER BASEBALL / FOOTBALL / VOLLEYBAL CAMPS

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers will play a double header in Sturgis Saturday and then back home for two Sunday with Riverton. the first game is set to start at noon and we will have it live on 14-10 KWYO.

They end their regular season with a double header Monday in Miles City, Montana.

They open post season play next Wednesday and Head coach Ben Phillips says they'll use the next six games as prep for the district tournament.

SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL

The Sheridan minors (9-10 year olds) Little League team won their second game at their district tournament in Gillette Tuesday.

The game was delayed by in the top of the second inning. Resumed play at 8 pm after the opening ceremonies and festivities.The Sheridan boys took the game 23-9.

They batted around twice in the 4th inning to blow the game open. As the #1 seed in their pool, they will start bracket play on Thursday at 7pm. In order to punch their ticket to the state tournament in Green River, they must win Thursday night.

BRONC FOOTBALL / TROOPER BASEBALL / JR. VOLLEYBALL

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football program will have three new assistant coaches when they open fall camp august sixth one of the new coaches will be former Bronc standout Jeff Martini.

Head coach Don Julian says he's pleased with all three hires as they get ready to defend their 2011 state title.

And Julian says all three have fit in with the current staff and he's happy the direction the Broncs are heading going into a new season.

July 17th

TONGUE RIVER VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Tongue River Middle School will be hosting a volleyball camp from 9:00-12:00 on August 7-10 in Ranchester.

Camp is open to all girls entering grades 6-8. Wade Wells, director/coach of Montana Juniors Volleyball Club, will be the instructor.

Wells has coached throughout Montana at the collegiate, high school & club levels. Cost is $60 and includes t-shirt. Please call 751-7361 after 5 pm for information/registration form.

SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUERS WIN ONE / LOSE ONE AT DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

The Sheridan minors (9-10 year olds) beat Platte County in 4 innings Monday 18-3 in their first game at the District Little League tournament in Gillette.

Xavier Soule pitched 3 innings and Hunter Weiss and Nate Roe came on in relief. They play the Gillette National league team this afternoon at 3pm.

The Sheridan majors 11-12 year old Little League team lost to the Gillette All-Stars 8-6 Monday night.

Down 8-2 in last inning and scored four to cut the lead to 2 but just came up short. They have today off before playing Laramie on Wednesday at 4pm.

July 16th

TROOPERS FALL IN GILLETTE / FOOTBALL CAMP CONTINUES

TROOPER BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers are 39-8 overall after dropping a 6-4 decision at Gillette Monday night.

The Troops committed four errors in the game and it cost them as they fell behind 4-0 through four innings.

Next up the Troops will play a double header in Sturgis Saturday and then back home for two Sunday with Riverton. The first game is set to start at Noon Sunday and we will have it live on 14-10 KWYO.

SHERIDAN 13 YEAR OLD BABE RUTHERS WIN STATE TITLE

The Sheridan 13 year Babe Ruth team took their state title over the weekend.

They now head to the Babe Ruth regional tournament to be played in Boise, Idaho starting July 25th.

SHERIDAN LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL BEGIN POST SEASON PLAY

The Sheridan Little League Majors Team comprised of 11-12 year old Little League players will open their District Tournament against Gillette at 7pm tonight they have a bye on Tuesday.

They are scheduled to play Laramie on Wednesday at 4pm.

The teams in the Majors tournament are Gillette, Sheridan, Laramie, Torrington, Platte County and Newcastle.

Pool play is scheduled for Monday-Wednesday, and Thursday and Friday are a single elimination bracket.

Only the top two teams in the District 2, will advance to the State Tournament in Green River, beginning on July 25th.
