WYOMING HOOPS TONIGHT / SC WEDNESDAY

SC HOOPS - The Sheridan college Generals and Lady Generals play road games at Casper college tomorrow night and will be at home Saturday night hosting games with Gillette.

The Lady Generals are 17-2 overall coming off two conference wins last week and are on a nine game winning streak. Tomorrow night they play at Casper and another conference game with Gillette at home Saturday night Head coach Frank McCarthy says it's another big week of conference play.

Bison Swimmers First, Second at Weekend Meets

The Bison boys' swim team had another exceptiona weekend, taking first in their own Invite Friday and finishing second in the Worland Invite on Saturday.
At their home meet Friday, the Bison finished first with 589 points, followed by Douglas with 463, Rawlins with 215, and Newcastle with 148.
First-place finishes came from the 400 free relay team, the 200 medley relay team, and the 200 free relay team.
Individually, Neil Medders took first in the 100 free and 100 back; Nate Holt won the 200 and 500 free; Josh Cohoon was first in the 50 free; and Justin Land won the diving event.

WOODWARD NAMED MWC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Wyoming forward Kayla Woodward has earned Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played from Jan. 16-22, 2012. It is the first weekly award in her collegiate career.

LADY BRONC 8TH GRADE HOOP CHAMPS

The Sheridan Lady Broncs 8th grade traveling basketball team won the Ram Hoopfest over the weekend in Billings, Montana.

THE WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP-UP

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams open up conference play and won 3 out of 4 games the Broncs blew out Cheyenne South Friday and came back Saturday with a 50-39 win over Laramie.

The Lady Broncs beat south 63-33 Friday but dropped an overtime game in Laramie Friday. They played from behind the entire game but found a way to get it into overtime after the game Head coach Sean Yeager.

Busy Weekend for Jo Co High School Sports

Johnson County high school athletes were in action this weekend and had mixed results.
In basketball, the Bison boys traveled to Glenrock on Friday and downed the Herders 52-41, and then dropped their game on Saturday in Torrington to the Trailblazers 59-46.
The boys are now 6-6 for the season.
The Lady Bison also traveled to Glenrock Friday and beat the Lady Herders 36-31, and also dropped their game at Torrington to the Lady Blazers 49-38.
The girls are now 5-7 so far this season.
The Kaycee teams fared much better this weekend.
