March 29th

LOCAL SPORTS HAS THE WEEKEND OFF SCHEDULE RESUMES NEXT FRIDAY

SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams resume conference play next week with matches against Cheyenne East and Central the Broncs will play at home the Lady Broncs on the road.

TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams will compete at their next meet in Casper next Friday at Kelly Walsh high school.

TROOPERS - The Sheridan Troopers open the season April 27th at home hosting a double header with Cody. We will broadcast the home opener live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER / SC NAMES FIRST SOCCER COACH

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams played in Buffalo Thursday night.

The Lady Broncs beat the Lady Bison 2-1 and the boys match ended in a 1-All overtime draw Bronc's Head coach Kevin Riser.

Next week they resume conference play with Cheyenne East and Central the Broncs will play at home the Lady Broncs on the road.

SHERIDAN COLLEGE SOCCER - Sheridan college named the person who will be the first Women's soccer coach in school history Thursday, Athletic Director
Steve Smiley.

Sheridan college has it's first Women’s Soccer Coach

Stefan Skillman is currently on both the Men’s & Women’s staff at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD (NAIA level).

Sheridan college Athletic Director Steve Smiley commented on the new hire.

“We’re thrilled to announce the hiring of Stefan to our Generals staff. Stefan is a young, driven coach that is extremely active & passionate about the game of soccer, and well respected by his peers in the profession.

SHERIDAN / BUFFALO SOCCER TONIGHT

BRONC / LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Sheridan high school soccer teams play in Buffalo this evening the girls match is set to begin at 4:00 the boys go at 6:00.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs are in for some tough competition tonight. The Lady Bison are ranked 5th in 3-A soccer and are coming off a 4-0 blow out win over 4-A Gillette.

The Bison are ranked number two in the boys 3-A rankings and are coming off a 1-0 loss to 4-A number two Gillette the Broncs are ranked 5th in the 4-A standings this week and are coming off a split of matches last week.

SHS TRACK / SOCCER THURSDAY/ LONGTIME GILLETTE COACH TO HANG IT UP

SPRING BREAK ACTIVITIES - It's spring break at Sheridan high school but the school has not been abandoned this week as soccer, track, tennis and golf have been holding practices and tomorrow their will be some soccer and track and field, Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian.

And it won't be too long before Julian gets back into football mode with the broncs as the football program has released their off season schedule for the players and their families.

Buffalo Soccer Teams Split Against Gillette

Buffalo's boys' and girls' soccer teams took on 4A Gillette Tuesday, with the boys on the road and the girls hosting the Lady Camels.

Generals basketball player moving on up

Sheridan College sophomore guard Ron Mvouika has committed to Missouri State University for the 2013-2014 season.

Mvouika, a 1st Team All-Region Selection, averaged 19.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game this past season for the Generals, leading them to a 24-7 records and a share of the Region IX North Championship.

Ron was 1st in scoring in Region IX North and 2nd in rebounding while shooting 48% from the field, 39% from three-point range, and 72% from the charity stripe.

Mike Curry resigns in Gillette

Mike Curry has resigned as Gillette high school boys basketball coach.

Curry coached the Camels for 30 years and won 12 state titles.
