WEEKEND LOCAL SPORTS WRAP UP

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball opened conference play the Lady Broncs swept victories at home over Cheyenne South and Laramie to run their record to 13-1 overall.

This week they will play on the road at Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East both games will broadcast live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio Friday night at 7:30 and Saturday at 1:30.

The Broncs beat Cheyenne South 58-56 Friday and fell at Laramie 66-44 on Saturday.

Johnson County HS Sports Wrap For January 21

High School sports teams in Johnson County were busy again this weekend with all teams in action.

The Bison boys' basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend, beating Newcastle 49-28 Thursday, and losing to Torrington 48-42 on Saturday.

COWBOYS TAKE DOWN #15 SDSU

Senior forward Leonard Washington and sophomore forward Larry Nance Jr. both notched double-doubles to lead the University of Wyoming men's basketball team to a 58-45 win over No. 15/14 San Diego State on Saturday night in the Arena-Auditorium.

A crowd of 9,573, UW's largest in the AA since 2005, watched the Pokes lead wire-to-wire after amassing a 20-9 lead at halftime.

BRONCS / LADY BRONCS POST VICTORIES IN CONFERENCE OPENERS

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams posted victories Friday night against Cheyenne South. The Lady Broncs led by 14 at halftime and went onto to pick up their 12th win of the year beating the Bison 74-50, Hailey Ligocki and Robbie Ryan led the way with 15 points each.

They host Laramie this afternoon at 1:00 you can hear the game live on 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

The Broncs won a seesaw battle at South Friday night holding off the Bison 58-56 Reed Ritterbusch led the Broncs will 24 points Dylan Daniels had 11.

BRONC / LADY BRONC B-BALL

The Sheridan Broncs were defeated by the Laramie Plainsmen today with a final score of 62 to 44.

The Lady Broncs won their second conference game today with a 46 to 26 victory over the Laramie Lady Plainsmen!

BIG SPORTS WEEKEND TIPS OFF TODAY

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Sheridan high school basketball teams will open conference play tonight the Broncs play at Cheyenne South then over to Laramie tomorrow.

Tonight's night's game with the Bison tips at 7:30 and tomorrow in Laramie at 1:30 both games can be heard live on 14-10 KWYO.

Broncs Head coach Gale Smith says top to bottom the 4-A East looks to be pretty even and every time out you've got to play well to have a chance to win.

SHERIDAN ICE FIGURE SKATING

Nine Sheridan Ice Figure Skaters are preparing for the New Year’s Ice Breaker Competition to be held in Gillette on January 19th.

The Sheridan figure skaters will compete with teams from Wyoming and South Dakota. Sheridan Ice Figure Skaters are the only skaters in the competition to come from an outdoor rink - practicing in this week’s cold temperatures is quite admirable.
