GENERALS FALL ON THE ROAD AT CENTRAL CC

The Generals lost a tough road game last night in Riverton to Central Wyoming College by a score of 72-69, dropping their record to 14-4, 3-1 in the North.

They were down 39-25 at half and made a big run to the lead to 2 points late, but missed 3 shots with under 15 seconds to go to either take the lead or tie it, and CWC made FT’s to ice it.

Ron Mvouika led the Generals with 18 points, and Tate Stensgaard had 12 points and a team-high 6 rebounds.

They play in the Dome on Saturday vs Western Wyoming, tip-off 5:00pm.

COWBOYS / COWGIRLS FALL / LOCAL WEEKEND SPORTS SCENE LOOKS BUSY

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS - The Lady Broncs will host Billings West tomorrow while the Broncs play at West then Saturday the Broncs are at home with Natrona county and the Lady Broncs will travel to Casper.

We will broadcast the Lady Broncs live tomorrow night at 7:30 on KWYO and 87.7 FM and Saturday we will have the Broncs on live at 4:30 when they play Natrona county that game will be broadcast on 105.9 FM.

Cowgirls Open Up Conference play With Tough 70-68 Loss At Boise State

BOISE, Idaho -The Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team (11-3 overall, 0-1 MW) suffered a conference opening loss 70-68 against the Boise State Broncos (8-6 overall, 1-0 MW) on Wednesday night in Boise.

"This is conference play," said head coach Joe Legerski. "We had to have someone step up and Kayla Woodward did that tonight with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Boise State hit a three-point field goal at the end of the game and we couldn't hit a final shot at the end.

(Jan. 9, 2013) – Senior guard Derrious Gilmore scored 17 points for the 25th-ranked University of Wyoming men’s basketball team on Wednesday night against Boise State, but the Broncos hit a three as time expired to steal a 63-61 win in the Arena-Auditorium in the Mountain West opener for both squads. The loss snapped a 13-game winning streak for the Pokes (13-1, 0-1 MW), who were one of four undefeated teams left in the nation.
