Trooper Baseball
The Sheridan Trooper Baseball Team will play their next three dates on the road before returning to Sheridan for a four day home stand. They open the road trip with two games at Rapid City Post 320 Saturday, then a double header in Powell Sunday, and two in Riverton Tuesday, June 5. Following that trip, they host four straight home double headers starting with Gillette on Friday, June 8; the first game will start at 5:00p.m.

BRONC FOOTBALL PLAYERS BACK ON THE FIELD

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Bronc football team is working out this week as they ready for their first team football camp of the summer, they will attend the Chadron state team camp next week.

According to Wyoming High School Activities Association rules players must have practices done before attending contact camps.

Nearly 80 players will make the trip with the coaches, when they return from Chadron the University of Wyoming will hold a one day camp in Sheridan on Thursday, June 7th then it's onto off season weight training.

LADY GENERALS YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP COMING IN JUNE

Sheridan college Lady Generals basketball coach Frank McCarthy will host his summer basketball camp for Sheridan county girls June 18th-21st in the Hoffman dome at Sheridan college.

The fee is 100 dollars for the camp,all campers receive not only great basketball fundamental instruction they all get a camp t-shirt and their own basketball.

To pre-register and for more information contact Frank McCarthy at Sheridan college by calling 674-6446 ex:4001 or 752-1103.

The camp will run each day from 9:00 to noon.

ALL-STATE SOCCER HONORS / BRONC FOOTBALL TEAM CAMP

ALL-STATE SOCCER AWARDS - Eight Bronc and Lady Bronc senior soccer players named 1st team all-state.

For the Lady Broncs Seniors Nicci Kassen, Rickie Ryan and Noelle Golinvaux and for the Broncs Cole Smith, Braydon Drell, Hunter Reece, Gabe Dahmke and Jake Moore.

Four Buffalo Bison soccer players made the 3-A all state 1st team they are Kaleb Rodriquez, Wyatt Witty, Neil Medders, Seth Hostetler and Kade Myers.

All state voting is done by the coaches, coaches nominate their own players but cannot vote for them in the balloting.

2012 WYOMING SPORTS HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE BIOS

Four individuals and a set of brothers are among the 11th class of inductees into the Wyoming Sports Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. June 23 at the Parkway Plaza Hotel in Casper. Cocktails and a silent auction start at 5 p.m.

The newest class includes former University of Wyoming football standouts Casey Bramlet of Wheatland and David Edeen of Cheyenne; multi-state standout and coach Bruce Collins of Rock Springs; long-time Rawlins High volleyball coach Sandy Jebens and brothers Ben and Blaine Phillips of Sheridan.

2011-12 SHS SPORTS / TROPPERS / WYO HALL OF FAME

2011-12 SHS ATHLETICS - The 2011-12 high school sports season closed over the weekend and we had a chance to sit down and talk with Sheridan high school Activities Director Don Julian about this past season.

He says the year will go down as maybe the best year ever for Sheridan high school varsity athletics.

Not only were there several successes on the field this past season but the students also did the job in the classroom.

FORMER SC PLAYER / COACH TAKES WOMEN'S JOB AT CSU

CSU WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH RYUN WILLIAMS

Former Gillette high school and Sheridan college basketball standout Ryun Williams is the new women's basketball coach at Colorado State.

Williams played two years at Sheridan college and moved onto the University of South Dakota to finish off his playing career.

He came back to Sheridan college as the volleyball coach and then took over the Lady Generals basketball program his teams went 54-38 in three years before he moved onto Wayne state in Nebraska for ten seasons.

SOCCER / TRACK RECAP / TROOPERS ON THE ROAD

2012 HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams had to settle for runner up finishes at the state tournament but 2012 will go down as one of the best season's for soccer in Sheridan high school history.

The Lady Broncs final record was 18-3-2 the broncs went 18-4-1 both won the east conference title and both took the titles in the conference tournaments as well.

Lady Bronc Head coach Tom Racette says the senior class led the way for the last three season's to get the program back to contending for state titles.

May 20th

STATE SOCCER / STATE TRACK / TROOPER BASEBALL

STATE SOCCER - The Bronc and Lady Bronc soccer teams had to settle for runner up finishes.

Cheyenne Central was awarded a penalty kick in the first half against the Lady Broncs, that goal would hold up and Central would win the state title 1-0.

After the loss Head coach Tom Racette. And he says even though they were second the season was one of the best in the program's history.

The Lady Broncs finished the season with a school record 16 wins.
