LOCAL SPORTS BACK IN ACTION THIS WEEK

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Bronc and Lady Bronc basketball teams are off until Thursday when they open a tournament in Riverton.

The open Thursday against Casper Kelly Walsh and we will have both games live for you with the Lady Broncs at 5:30 and the Broncs at 7:00 on 14-10 KWYO and 87.7 FM ESPN radio.

BH / TR BASKETBALL - The Big Horn Rams and Lady Rams start 2013 at home against Wright Friday while the Tongue River Eagles and Lady Eagles restart their season on Friday as well with home games against Moorcroft.

Cowgirl Basketball's Woodward Earns MW Player of the Week Honors

LARAMIE, Wyo. - For the first time this season, Wyoming forward Kayla Woodward has earned Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played from Dec. 17-23, 2012. It is the third MWC weekly accolade of her career.

Woodward, a sophomore from Sheridan Wyo., led the Cowgirls to a 64-61 road win at Ball State in Wyoming's only game of the week on Tuesday.

Woodward scored a team-high 16 points and seven rebounds, shooting a season-high 7-10 (70.0 percent) from the field and 2-3 (66.7 percent) from beyond the arc.

BRONCOS TAKE DOWN THE CHIEFS 38-3 FOR 11TH STRAIGHT WIN

DENVER -- If he wants, Peyton Manning can use all that time at home to crank up the DVD player and watch the highlights.

What a set he put together for himself and his acrobatic receivers on Sunday.

Manning and the Denver Broncos wrapped up home-field advantage through the AFC playoffs with a predictable 38-3 runaway over the Kansas City Chiefs -- a win punctuated by a pair of touchdown passes as nifty as any of the 37 Manning threw this year for his new team, which closed the regular season on an 11-game win streak.

BRONC / LADY BRONC HOOPS GEARING UP FOR 2013

BRONC / LADY BRONC BASKETBALL - The Broncs and Lady broncs are gearing up for the stretch run of the basketball season.

The Lady Broncs are 7-0 and ranked number one in 4-A while the Broncs are 4-3 overall.

Lady Broncs Head coach Sean Yeager says they are planning on getting a lot done before they head to Riverton in a week.

And he says the Lady Broncs have put in the time to be in the position they are in and the hard work continues.

December 26th

BRONC WRESTLERS TO USE THE BREAK TO RE-FOCUS

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Bronc wrestlers have entered the holiday break and it's an important time as Head coach Tyson Shatto says they can get a lot of work done until their next tournament.

And Tyson says the season really goes fast after the first of the year. The Broncs open 2013 at the "Shane Shatto" invitational tournament in Douglas January 4th.

SHERIDAN COLLEGE HOSTS YOUTH HOOP CAMPS SATURDAY

SC YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMPS - The Sheridan college basketball coaches and players host their one day holiday basketball camps Saturday.

Lady Generals Head coach Frank McCarthy says they are getting some good rest during the break and they had a great first half of the season. And he says the girls youth camp will open at 2:00 Saturday in the Hoffman dome.

The boys camp will be the first session Saturday starting at 10:00 and running until noon Generals Head coach Steve Smiley.

Manning's 3 TDs lead Broncos to 34-12 win

DENVER (AP) - Denver won its 10th straight game Sunday as Peyton Manning threw three touchdown passes for the 72nd time of his career in a 34-12 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Denver (12-3) pulled into a tie for first place in the AFC with Houston, which fell 23-6 to the Vikings.

Manning finished with 339 yards on 30-for-43 passing. Von Miller was in on two sacks for the Broncos, the second of which knocked Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden out of the game with a right shoulder injury.
