Saturday Sports

The Sheridan Lady Bronc Soccer team downed Cheyenne East Friday night 2-1 at Homer Scott Field. Rickie Ryan and Hailey Ligocki each netted a goal for the Lady Broncs to get the much needed conference win. The Lady Broncs will host the top ranked Cheyenne Central Lady Indians this afternoon at 1 o'clock to put the wraps on their regular season.

IT'S ANOTHER BUSY WEEKEND ON THE LOCAL SPORTS SCENE

BRONC / LADY BRONC TRACK AND FIELD - The Bronc and Lady Bronc track teams will compete in a final regular season meet today in Gillette the regional meet for all 4-A , 2-A and 1-A East teams will be in Sheridan for two days beginning a week from today.

Bronc and Lady Bronc Head coach Art Bauers says both teams have had a pretty good spring.

Monday eight athletes qualified and competed in the Wyoming track classic in Casper and Bauers says they did very well.

THE SPRING SPORTS REGULAR SEASON WRAPS UP THIS WEEK

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team will close out the regular season at home tomorrow against Cheyenne East and Saturday against Cheyenne Central.

The standings in the girls conference race is all jammed up with the Lady Broncs tied for third place Head coach Tom Racette says this could be a wild weekend to finish up the regular season.

BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs are sitting in pretty good shape to pick up an automatic bid into the state tournament but must play well this weekend.

SHERIDAN STORM U-14 SOCCER WINNERS

The Sheridan Storm U-14 boys took 1st place in the Stockman Bank Magic City Classic in Billings April 30-May 1.

They went 4-0 over the weekend.

Bison Teams Busy This Week

The Bison Track and Field Team participated in the Wyoming Track Classic on Monday, after the meet was postponed Friday because of weather and travel conditions.
The top finisher for Buffalo was Della Lyle, who took second in the girls' 3,200-meter run.
Isaac Keifer also finished in the top-five for the Bison, taking fourth in the boys' 800-meter run.

LADY BRONC SOCCER PICKS UP ANOTHER CONFERENCE WIN

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team beat Casper Kelly Walsh in their make up game last night in Casper.

The Lady Broncs shut out the Trojans 2-0 and now prepare to close out the regular season at home Friday and Saturday against the Cheyenne schools.

BRONC SOCCER - The Broncs are sitting in pretty good shape to pick up an automatic bid into the state tournament but must play well this weekend.

They sit in 2nd place in the conference race and need one victory to secure the 2nd overall seed.

WYOMING TRACK CLASSIC RESULTS

TRACK AND FIELD - The Wyoming high school activities association held the annual Wyoming track classic in Casper yesterday.

Six from Sheridan high school and three from Tongue River high school competed, for Tongue River Hunter Vineyard tied the meet record winning the high jump at 5'7.

The Eagles Taylor Heaps finished 2nd in the 800 meters and Nate Plymell was 6th in the pole vault

For the Sheridan Lady Broncs Claire Korpela and Lauren Buyan finished 3rd and 7th in the 300 meter hurdles, Bailie Dannels was 3rd in the 400 meters and Katie Rotellini was 2nd at 800 meters.

NSI TO HOST A TRACK MEET TODAY

Normative services will be hosting a track meet today.
Events are scheduled to get underway at 4:00.

Teams competing include, NSI, Tongue River, Big Horn and Sheridan high school and five other schools from Northeast Wyoming

Bison Soccer Posts Huge Wins

The Bison Soccer Teams had huge wins on Saturday when they hosted Cheyenne South.
The boys shut out South 11-0, and the girls won their game 11-1.
Both the boys and girls should retain their Number-One rankings this week.
The girls, 8-1-1 overall, will take on Gillette Monday in a rescheduled game from earlier this season, and the girls will host Worland Tuesday, Newcastle Friday and finish their regular season Saturday at Douglas.
The boys, 9-1-1 overall, will play at Worland Tuesday, at Newcastle Friday and finish their regular season at home Saturday against Douglas.

Bronc senior Drew Slikker Scored the game winner against Kelly Walsh

LADY BRONC SOCCER - The Lady Bronc soccer team had one match postponed but did get to play Saturday.

Their match at Casper Kelly Walsh was postponed Friday and will be made up tomorrow afternoon they did play at Laramie Saturday.

The Plainsmen got by the Lady Broncs 1-0 Head coach Tom Racette says it was a difficult weekend to travel and it was a factor in Saturday's match.
