THE 80th SHERIDAN WYO RODEO OPENS TONIGHT AT 7:00

THE FIRST PERFORMANCE OF THE WYO RODEO IS TONIGHT AT 7:00

WYO RODEO - Three rounds of steer roping was held yesterday during the slack performance at the fairgrounds as the 2010 Wyo rodeo got underway.

83 ropers entered in this year's steer roping. JP Wickett from Salisaw, Oklahoma won the first go. another Oklahoma roper took the 2nd go as Chet Herren from Pawhuska was the winner and in the 3rd go Chance Kelton from Mayer Arizona was the winner.

The Wyo rodeo carnival opens tonight at 5:00 and the first performance starts gets started with the “Grand Entry” at 7:00.

WYO RODEO ACTION GETS UNDERWAY TODAY

THE 80th SHERIDAN WYO RODEO BEGINS TODAY

SHERIDAN WYO RODEO - There have been a few changes to this year's addition of the Wyo Rodeo. The Rodeo committee has made the Wyo a two-head rodeo for all the timed events and added a Wednesday night performance in 2010.

Board member Tracy Swanson says the board was responding the requests from rodeo competitors.

"LeDoux Cup" Winners

BIG HORN POLO - In Big Horn polo action from Sunday they played two matches the Chris Ledoux Foundation Cup and the Sheridan Motor Cup.

The Ledoux Foundation winning team was the “Canyon Ranch” and the Sheridan motor cup winning team was the pony bar and grill.

This week they will play matches Sunday as part of the Wyo Rodeo tailgate party at the Equestrian center that will be Sunday afternoon.

They'll play Eaton's cup at 1:00 and Wyo Rodeo Cup at 3:00.

Sheridan WYO Rodeo Week is Underway

Sheridan WYO Rodeo week is underway.

SHERIDAN WYO RODEO- A record number of contestants have entered this year's 80th Wyo rodeo which will feature four night's of top PRCA action beginning Wednesday night at 7:00. They will also have slack performances in the morning at 7:00 AM starting Tuesday with a full day of Steer roping. Rodney Atkins and Jake Owen perform tonight with the "Boot Kickoff" at the fairgrounds.

IT'S RODEO TIME IN SHERIDAN, WYOMING

SHERIDAN WYO RODEO - The 80th Sheridan Wyo Rodeo opens with concerts tonight and tomorrow at the fairgrounds.

A record number of contestants have entered this year's rodeo which will feature four night's of top PRCA action beginning Wednesday night at 7:00.

they will also have slack performances in the morning each day starting Tuesday at 7:00 am with a full day of steer roping.

Wyo rodeo board Vice-president Zane Garstad says it's a special time of year.

TROOPERS SWEEP AND THE SHERIDAN BRONCS HOST THEIR YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP NEXT WEEK

TROOPERS TAKE TWO FROM STURGIS

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers have won five of their last six and four in row after taking two from Sturgis, South Dakota last night at Thorne-rider stadium.

In the first game Isaac Carrel hit a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning in the come from behind 12-11 win.
The second game went down to the Troops final at bat and a Sturgis throwing error allowed the winning run to score as they took that Game 6-5 Head coach Ben Phillips says they found a way to win both games.

THE BIG HORN FOOTBALL TEAM PREPARES FOR CAMP AND THE SHERIDAN TROOPERS PLAY TONIGHT

THE RAMS HEAD TO CAMP AT BLACK HILLS STATE

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams football team is preparing this week for a team camp at Black Hills State University by holding a mini-camp at the Big Horn Equestrian Center Head coach Bert Dow says their summer weight program has gone well.

WRESTLING AND FOOTBALL CAMPING THIS WEEK FOR THE BRONCS AND THE RAMS

BRONC WRESTLERS ARE HOLDING CAMP THIS WEEK

BRONC WRESTLING - The Sheridan Broncs are hosting a wrestling camp this week and it's open to all middle school and high school wrestlers. Bronc Head coach Terry Burgess says some of the Broncs have already been camping this summer. And this is a perfect opportunity to get even more good instruction without having to leave town.

Again all middle school and high school wrestlers can attend tonight's session will get underway at 5:00 in the Sheridan high school wrestling room.

AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL - The Sheridan Troopers dropped two games in Cody last Friday and will play on the road tonight in Riverton. The Troops play two at home Wednesday night against Sturgis, South Dakota. The Troopers start the post season at their district tournament July 22nd the top four qualify for the state tournament which begins in Sheridan July 28th. Head coach Ben Phillips says the Troops have some quality games to play over the next three weeks.

JETS SPLIT DOUBLE HEADER AND WITH THE TROOPERS PLAY ON THE ROAD THIS WEEKEND

The Sheridan Jets earn a split with Cody

SHERIDAN JETS BASEBALL – The Jets played Cody last night and earned a split in the double header at Thorne-rider stadium. Cody took the first game but the Jets came back and built up a comfortable lead in the second game and held off the Cubs 9-7. Head coach Ryan Murner says the players came back and got the job done in the late game.
