August 19th

THE HIGH SCHOOL GOLF SEASON IS UNDERWAY WITH GOOD RESULTS FROM SHERIDAN COUNTY

SHS GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc golfers sit in the top spot as a team after the first day of the Riverton Invitational tournament. Cameron Lindell leads the way after a blistering first round of 64, teammate Kamrin Allen is hot on his heels after a first round 68 play concludes today.

Following play today the next tournament will start Monday in Douglas. Kendrick golf course will host the Sheridan Invitational starting next Thursday.

THE FLYING "H" POLO RANCH IS HOSTING A REGIONAL CHALLENGE CUP FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

Flying H Polo Club is hosting the USPA Western Regional Challenge Cup 14 Goal Tournament, sponsored by The Powder Horn Golf Club.

Local players include Gillian Johnston & Matt Huckeba playing on the Bendabout team, as well as,Professional players from throughout the US an foriegn country's including Canada, South Africa, Costa Rica & Mexico. Thursday's

Games are 1:00 & 3:00 pm with the finals on Saturday August 21st at 3:00 pm with a preliminary match at 12:30.

The Fall Sports Preview Continues Today With Lady Bronc Swimming and Diving

The Lady Bronc Swimmers and Divers open their season in a week

LADY BRONC SWIMMING AND DIVING - The Sheridan Lady Bronc Swimmers and Divers open their season next week with the Casper relays and Gillette pentathlon.

This year they've added another coach to help out with the girls this fall as long time Wyoming high school coach Larry Stiger will join Larry White and Rick Oatts with the Lady Broncs this fall. Stiger helped make the Gillette girls program a powerhouse a decade ago.

THE BRONC AND LADY BRONC TENNIS PLAYERS LOOKING FORWARD TO OPENING THE SEASON

SHERIDAN HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS - The Bronc and Lady Bronc tennis teams got a lot of good tennis in over the summer as several tennis enthusiasts in Sheridan held summer programs for the players.

New Sheridan high school Head coach Bob Faurot says, playing most of the summer has made a big difference for the players.

They open the season next Thursday with matches in Jackson so he says they got right to work to be ready to take the court in a week.

BRONC AND LADY BRONC GOLF - The Sheridan Bronc golfers will be one of two favorites to win the 4-A golf state title in September. The Broncs and Lady Broncs open the 2010 season Thursday and Friday at a tournament in Riverton.

As freshmen and sophomores this year's Broncs won the state title in 2008 last year Evanston took the title away and the two teams look to be loaded up again this fall to challenge for the state title again.

Kurt Luplow, the newest inductee into the Big Horn Polo Club Hall of Fame, reminisces with Bob Connell about the polo picture he is holding from 60-plus years ago.

Kurt was inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony during half-time of the Powder Horn Cup held Sunday at the Big Horn Equestrian Center between the Century 21 team and the D-D Ranch team.

The Century 21 team prevailed over the D-D Ranch team by a score of 9 to 4.

August 15th

SUMMER'S OVER? FALL HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS START TODAY

BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs open week two today, they had an excellent week of practice last week and Head coach Don Julian says the players put in some good time on the field and begin to refine practices this week.

The mock game and pre-game run through Friday will be open to the public and then it's into game week.

The Broncs play at Casper Kelly Walsh Friday August 27th we begin season long live coverage of Bronc football on our sister stations AM 14-10 KWYO and 95.9 FM.

HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL.SWIMMING, GOLF, CROSS COUNTY AND TENNIS BEGIN MONDAY

TONGUE RIVER FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles first practice football will be Monday morning at 6:00 at the middle school field in Ranchester.

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams will open Monday morning at the Big Horn Equestrian center.

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs will end the first week of two-a-days today with one practice.

The Broncs open at Casper Kelly Walsh August 27th and will play their home opener on September 3rd against Cheyenne East.

TONGUE RIVER FOOTBALL - The Tongue River Eagles first practice football will be Monday morning at 6:00 at the middle school field in Ranchester.

BIG HORN FOOTBALL - The Big Horn Rams will open Monday morning at the Big Horn Equestrian center.

SHERIDAN BRONC FOOTBALL - The Sheridan Broncs will end the first week of two-a-days tomorrow with one practice. Head coach Don Julian says the players have worked hard during the first four days of practice.

BIG HORN RAMS AND LADY RAMS GOLF PLAYER / PARENT MEETING TONIGHT

All Big Horn high school golfers and their parents are asked to attend a meeting tonight at Big Horn High school.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30.
