Can You Name this Intersection?

In addition to working on 20-miles of street repair over the next two to five years perhaps the City of Sheridan could work with WYDOT and finally get street signs posted on perhaps what is the only intersection in the city without signs. How about Sugar Lane and Coffeen Avenue as sign names to act as visual aids and thus help visitors to our area?

Sheridan Scenic Character Plan Workshop

About forty participated in an interactive presentation regarding the Sheridan landscape Wednesday evening in the Watt's Center at Sheridan College. Participant responses will help guide in the development of policy and strategy for the preservation and enhancement of the scenic views, especially into and out of the main corridors of Sheridan.

Tuesday afternoon the 2011 High School Blood Drive Challenge was well underway at the old Woodland Park Elementary School (current location of the Sheridan Recreation Community Center) when Mike Morton from Big Horn arrived.

Tuesday marked the official opening of the $69,000 City of Sheridan Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility with Sheridan's Mayor Kinskey "cutting the ribbon." Done Plowing Yet?

This plow from a bygone era seen in Big Horn serves as a reminder that after snow plowing comes that other form of plowing. In its day this plow was pulled behind a horse or mule. Strong 2nd Half Underway

Sheridan Lady Broncs; Brianna Smith, Noelle Golinvaux, Kayla Woodward, Stephany Sessions and Hailey Ligocki start the 2nd half strong on both offense and defense against Laramie Friday evening at home during their first conference game of the season. They led by 10 at the half and came on strong in the 2nd half to beat the Lady Plainsmen 67 - 39 as they continued their unbeaten season.

Special Cheerleaders

Amber, Stormie and Stevie from the Sheridan KARES (Kids Accepted Respected Expected to Succeed) Program came to see the Lady Broncs and their Bronc Cheerleader friend Anna Roach at Friday night's basketball game. The three with help from the Bronc Cheerleaders and their care givers Becky Husske and Catherine Johnson even got into the action with some cheering.

All Aboard for Art

The Sheridan Artists' Guild, et al (SAGE) recently moved in the Historic Train Depot at 201 E. Fifth Street where it will be used as a Community Art Center. The Center's planned activities for 2011 include a variety of children and youth programs, gallery shows, classes and workshops.
